The moment I read Toni’s initial inquiry email, I was already in love with the idea of their day and knew we’d be a perfect fit. She said they wanted “something very candid, casual, and warm. Nothing too structured, preferably no voiceover, and looks like film or a home video vibe even.” Then later when she sent me her inspiration video, the wedding scene from The Theory of Everything (watch the inspo here) I could not have been more excited! The film vibes, the shakiness, the zooming in and out, the piano music, the authenticity 😍
Toni & Steven’s day started with a traditional catholic ceremony and Toni was a little shy on the first kiss lol! We made our way to a few spots around Calgary for photos and videos, including the place where they shared their first kiss, The Chinook Arc. Their reception was held at River Cafe, a gorgeous restaurant on Prince Edward Island! We popped champagne at the river, they took off on a city scooter, and ended the night with a magical sparkler moment.
Of all the couples I’ve worked with, Toni and (especially) Steven were all smiles all day! This video feels raw, real, and organic, and conveys so much feeling and emotion, even without audio from vows or speeches. I’ll never get over this day and this video!
